Today is Mother’s Day!!! Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mothers out there! There seems to always be a birthday, graduation, or some other reason to shower those we know and love with beautiful things. But as wonderful and vast as materialistic treasures can be, the gift of love is the most profound. It is the most lasting. My mother and grandmother taught me that.

Don’t get me wrong, we all have a wish list. Most of us could name a million and one things we would love to have shipped to our door step right now. There is also an indescribable excitement that comes from giving, receiving, and enjoying new things. However, what solidifies joy is the profound presence and power of love.
Whether it’s sharing our heart and our affections, or forgiving someone who has caused us pain, the gift of love is quite extraordinary. It is the only gift that enriches both the giver as well as the receiver.
They say love is free, but it certainly ain’t cheap! The reason love is so costly is because you are the conduit. You pay the bill with your own emotions, sweat and tears! Giving yourself continually requires great sacrifice. Mothers live this principle every single day. Both biological and honorary mothers pay a very dear price to give the very best to the ones they love. This is why taking the time to celebrate and appreciate them on days like this is so important.
